by Ben Lypka – Abbotsford News Oct 26, 2016 at 1:00 PM

The W.J. Mouat Hawks transformed into road warriors at the most opportune time.

The Hawks travelled to Kelowna to take on Mt. Boucherie on Friday, and edged the Bears 36-35 to keep their playoff hopes alive.

Mouat running back Nelson Lokombo had a monster game, rushing for 250 yards and scoring three touchdowns. He also caught one touchdown pass. Wide receiver Balraj Mangat also caught a touchdown for the Hawks.

Defensive back Eddie Escobal recorded a team-high nine tackles, with linebacker Robert Bradley adding eight of his own.

The win keeps Mouat in the playoff hunt in the AAA eastern conference, as they are tied for fourth with a record of two wins and three losses.

They next travel to Mission to take on the Roadrunners on Saturday at 1:30 p.m.
