The W.J. Mouat Hawks held on for a 23-21 victory over the Centennial Centaurs on Friday, but required a heroic last second block from senior Jacob Dodd to seal the deal. Dodd made the block after the Centaurs opted to try for a field goal from 35 yards with no time left on the clock in the fourth quarter. His tenacity in the final moments of the game, as well as his 136 yards rushing (31 carries, one TD), helped carry the Hawks to victory.
Quarterback Noah Falconer went seven for 10 for 168 yards, was intercepted once, and threw two TD passes of eight and 76 yards. Slater McRae led the Hawks with eight tackles.
Mouat will take to the road this weekend to play the Mt Boucherie Bears in Kelowna on Friday at four p.m.
