Three Hawks Honored with Provincial All-Stars

Congratulations to our Hawks who made the Provincial AAA All-Star team: Maleek Irons (Offensive MVP), Nick Westad (OL) and Sheriden Lawley (DL).

Still only in grade 11, running back Maleek Irons was named Offensive MVP, shattering the provincial rushing record with over 3200 yards and a mind-boggling 44 rushing touchdowns. He also broke the province’s single-game rushing record when he tallied 491 yards in the Hawks’ Oct 13 regular season win over Mount Douglas.

Offensive lineman and anchor Nick Westad was a key factor to creating Irons’ rushing opportunities, and he also tallied 70 tackles and 10 sacks on the defensive side of the ball.

Defensive lineman Sheriden Lawley was a force to be feared, producing 13 sacks for second in the province, and 55 tackles.

The three Hawks are being honored tonight and will receive their awards at the annual Subway All-Star Awards Banquet at the Croation Cultural Centre in Vancouver in conjunction with the BC Secondary Schools Football Association Championship playoffs.
