The W.J. Mouat Hawks will be in tough Friday afternoon when they take on the Lord Tweedsmuir Panthers of Surrey in Triple-A football action.

The Hawks come into the game as the No. 2-ranked team in B.C., according to The Province’s Big Five Triple-A rankings, however they have a record of 1-1 in regular season play.

By contrast, the Panthers have yet to lose this year after going 4-0 in the exhibition schedule and 2-0 so far in the regular season. They are ranked fifth in B.C., but that could change Friday.

One of the keys for the Hawks will be to stop Panthers runningback Michael Messenger, who has four touchdowns in two regular season games. Kickoff between the Hawks and Panthers goes at 2:30 p.m. in Surrey.
