Team B.C. comes calling for Abbotsford football stars

Eight members of the W.J. Mouat Hawks highlight an impressive crop of Abbotsford football players who have been invited to try out for B.C.’s under-18 team.

The Team B.C. mini-camp roster, released Tuesday [which will be held over the Victoria Day Long Weekend May 21-23 at Simon Fraser University,] features 132 players from across the province. Forty players will be picked for the Football Canada Cup, a national championship tournament which runs July 9-16 in Lethbridge, Alta.

The Mouat contingent features defensive backs Deion Bain and Nathan Henczel, linebackers Jake Heathcote and Taylor Hinton, defensive lineman Sheridan Lawley, offensive lineman Dairien Silva, quarterback Mario Narte, and receiver Brandon Barratt.
