Junior varsity stand-out Brandon Barratt set a new school record Thursday versus Holy Cross when he recorded nine touchdowns in a single game.
Barratt rushed for 266 yards and six touchdowns, and complimented it with another 150 yards and three touchdowns through the air.
Barratt leads the AAA Junior Varsity league in overall receiving yards, touchdowns and number of receptions with 800 yards, 12 touchdowns, and 29 receptions.
He is also seventh in the league in rushing yards and touchdowns, with 520 yards and 8 touchdowns.
The Hawks played a dominant game all-around with a final score of 61-36. Hawks quarterback Mario Narte made good on 8 of 10 passing attempts for 258 yards and three touchdowns. With Barratt on the receiving end of 150 of those yards, the bulk of the remaining yardage came on a huge 77-yard passing play to converted tight-end Jamal Rolle.
Narte also leads the AAA Junior passing ranks with 1304 passing yards and 14 touchdowns, as well as tenth in rushing yards at 397 yards with 10 touchdowns.
After a touch-and-go start to the season during exhibition rounds, the junior Hawks have turned it on, finishing four and one in league play and qualifying second in the Eastern Conference for a bye into the quarter finals on November eighteenth.
