In the last five seasons of covering High School Football I’ve found myself constantly telling football fans how great high school ball can be. I’m also always pushing for people to go and check out the action live in person.
Usually once they get to their first game they get hooked like I did my first time watching, which was Vancouver College and St. Thomas More on September 16, 2006. For me, a guy, that captured my attention and made me want to be involved in high school football ever since was Jamal Allen.
I thought I would compile my list of three players in B.C. High School Football you should go out and watch this weekend.

Jake Heathcote – Linebacker, W.J. Mouat Hawks
Who likes a little smash mouth football? I know I do and that’s why I love watching Jake Heathcote play for the W.J. Mouat Hawks.
He’s racked up an impressive 30 tackles, six sacks and one fumble recovery so far this season.
All three categories he currently leads or is tied for the lead on his team which hasn’t relinquished the top spot in the province yet this season.
Oh, and the Hawks haven’t lost yet this season either and Jake’s play is big reason why.
Check Jake out in person Friday night at Percy Perry Stadium in Coquitlam.
By no means is this a complete list of players worth going out and watching in person just three that I’ve personally enjoyed seeing play in person.
